listening to 60 minutes last night, i'm starting to think that bacteria will be the end of mankind. they say that bacteria are mutating to the point that antibiotics will no longer be effective. They also say that the more antibiotics you take the less effective they become at fighting bacteria within your body. I think they said that 2/3 of the antibiotics taken in america are unnecessary. They also said that in many parts of the world, antibiotics are over the counter and cheap. people are buying and taking the strongest ones available in some countries. the more these bacteria are confronted with the strongest antibiotics made, the more they mutate to be immune to them. There is one known bacteria right now, that has effected lots of people, that is so strong that there is only one antibiotic left that can combat it.

They also said that lots of the feed given to animals (chickens was there example) is loaded with antibiotics. They eat it every day. The bacteria are mutating to get around it and soon the (chickens in this case) food will contain those bacteria and get into humans.
