cheapest rice cooker questions
so I bought a $7 rice cooker, cooks rice perfect, doesn't burn, so last night I had a little bit of cooked ground beef taco meat and half batch of generic hamburger helper cheeseburger, so dumped that in the ricemaker and let it cook. It was fine for being what it was. So now I think "can I make other stuff in this?" As a reminder this isn't an "instant pot" type of device, it's a small, rice cooker, you put in rice and water, put the lid on, press the button, and 5 minutes later , perfect rice. My hamburger helper turned out just as expected, but I'm wondering if anyone uses one for more? I thought of somehow dumping cornbread batter in and make cornbread, maybe I'd have to unplug the unit to shut it off as it's a $7 rice cooker, turn it on , it cooks rice and shut off, but when I google it I just get worthless as cold shit results, which Google seems to be doing that more and more.
I've started a new paragraph, but I saw new eva longoria pics and I always thought she head like sagging string bean tits, small, perky nipple , pokies, whatever. Now new pics on TMZ she's got some WHOPPERS! did she get a tit job or just old age but I think she looks awesome. Pictures don't look touched up to me, but I'm no expert, I thought she looked pretty damned good, but I never knew her tits were huge! I think she's had a tit job and no one has caught on?
new paragraph now, and where is freak show fanatic ? what a trip he was, and deathproof, such a close second place!

Not sure about cold shit being worthless, but I would think there's plenty you can cook in a rice cooker besides rice. Oatmeal, mac and cheese, and various soups immediately come to mind.

Re: cheapest rice cooker questions
I know this isn't about an Instant Pot kind of device, but I understand the original Instant Pot came out of the idea of merging a rice steamer, slow cooker, and pressure cooker into one device. And for our purposes it does all that and more just fine. They aren't cheap, though, but the price of them hasn't risen much, and there are now generic non Instant Pot brands to buy. Mine makes rice perfectly once I rinse off the rice first before cooking. I can actually make better rice with a regular pot, but for the time savings for just getting some hot rice from the cooker to the bowl, I can't complain.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Why does one need a rice cooker? Rice isn’t that hard to make on a stovetop

Get an electric pressure cooker.
Makes great rice but also slow cooks, steams eggs under pressure to perfect hard-boil in 12 minutes, beans from dried to cooked in an hour, perfect corned beef in an hour, steams potatoes chunks on 12 mins for the fluffiest mash. Hard root veggies tender in 15 to 40 mins.
A rice cooker is nice, if not spending 300 on a rice cooker just get an electric pressure cooker.

Re: cheapest rice cooker questions
thanks for the replies. I'm going to check the youtube link. I have instant pot duo, I think that's what it's called. It's a smaller version but still pretty big and just one cup of rice tends to over cook and stick. So I got an aroma rice cooker, it's the smallest one, makes one cup perfect, does not stick, easy to clean, etc. I don't like cooking if it doesn't have auto shut off. My smoker, it's on a timer so it shuts itself off, ricemaker , instant pot, they shut them selves off, but say my propane grill or oven or stove, doesn't shut off automatically so I don't like using them as I tend to fall asleep. I once had my oven running at 350 degrees and couldn't figure why is my house so hot, I then realized my ovens been on for 24 hours. Same with gas grill (propane outdoor grill) next day wondered "what is burning" , I had a couple pork chops on and fell asleep and about 4 or 5 hours later propane ran out and I have 2 pices of charcoal, so I really like auto shut off and I normally just cook for me. But thanks again for the responses. I guess you could say, "probably as serious as the old J-bird gets".
