I think the cost factor as far as producing it , is a big factor. Imagine if they paid the stars what the Threesome@ Big Bang Theory make.

With Who talking about it passing the other shows at 20 seasons, there is one major difference. Expensive shows like GOT are 10 or less episodes per season. I've never watched L&O, but I'm guessing something like 16 episodes per year or something. Gunsmoke and shows like Beverly Hillbillies back in the 60's were shooting almost year round and putting out 30+ episodes per year. My sister actually sat down over many months and streamed every Gunsmoke episode ever made. Holy Shit.

i would like to admit that when i got to this part of the thread i thought you were dumb for not thinking that Big Bang Theory was funny. However, with the evidence you supplied about the laugh track, it has come to my attention that I was wrong. It isn't funny at all with no laugh track. My opinion has been changed. Thanks.

Nothing to do with the laugh track, but I watched maybe 4 shows back when it first started. I then realized after each one I didn't laugh once. Never revisited again.
