So, last word on the Irish Potato Famine
Actually not generally known, but it actually started a year or 2 before on the European Continent *Belgium, Germany, Denmark" area. Recent tests have shown the spores from this bight are extremely fragile once it enters the environment. Knocked down easily by rain, Killed by direct sunlight, etc. Can just spread a few miles on the winds. The biggest mystery is how it crossed the English Channel and infected England and then Ireland with deadly effect.

But what are your thoughts on diamond smuggling out of South Africa?
Re: So, last word on the Irish Potato Famine
The "Blood Diamond" campaign makes the Hollywierds feel good. Bottom line / major diamond= market. Been that way for Centuries. If that's what you are referring to. Holy shit, my weather is going ape shit. 40-60 MPH S winds feeding this monster storm. Tornado Watch until Midnight. Looks ugly.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:21 pm But what are your thoughts on diamond smuggling out of South Africa?

It started in America and crossed the Atlantic on ships. It spreads pretty far on the wind in the right weather conditions.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:16 pm Actually not generally known, but it actually started a year or 2 before on the European Continent *Belgium, Germany, Denmark" area. And it wasn’t just any ships. It was those technological marvels that Spain had that the rest of the world just caught up to a decade agoanalhamster wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:56 pmIt started in America and crossed the Atlantic on ships. The power plant went offline and electricity became scarce and in turn caused massive power bills at a certain Tennessean mansionReservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 12:10 am It's a little know fact that Norwegian C Cell Battery swallow guano once caused some sort of power outage at a small village called Chernobyl.

Re: So, last word on the Irish Potato Famine
The government blamed it on Pennsylvania earthworms chewing through the underground power lines... but we all know the real truth.captquint wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 12:15 amThe power plant went offline and electricity became scarce and in turn caused massive power bills at a certain Tennessean mansionReservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 12:10 am It's a little know fact that Norwegian C Cell Battery swallow guano once caused some sort of power outage at a small village called Chernobyl.

Nope. Not even close. Do your own damn research. It came from the Chinchas Islands off of Peru. You know. the only place on Earth that potatoes evolved over thousands of years along with their blights. The spores are extremely fragile. Do some research. I think I'll believe some historical exo- biologists over some one who gets bored with UJR every night and logs off around midnight.analhamster wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:56 pmIt started in America and crossed the Atlantic on ships. Re: So, last word on the Irish Potato Famine
Any way, the whole cause problem is moot. It happened, almost 2 million Irish died of starvation, most of the rest fled to the US and other places. Built our railroads, manned our factories. etc. One last interesting fact to show how traumatic it all was.Of all the nations in Euro-Asia, It's the only country with a lower population today compared to 1800.
