NYPD cop Brian Mulkeen was killed by FRIENDLY FIRE from fellow officers as he fought with gangster for control of his own gun

Let me guess. This cop pulled out his gun to shoot an unarmed citizen and got his ass shot up by the other faggot cops that got scared. Nice work police pussies. Meanwhile, they shot up the unarmed citizen who did nothing. Only in America. Keep up the good work you ignorant cops.

If cops cant even handle guns properly with extensive training, how the fuck is some civilian with WTC-level intelligence and zero training supposed to be trusted with them again?

Cops are civilians, the difference is cops aren't held accountable for their murders

Sadly, this is too often true.

A few years back my gun club used to have regular bowling pin shoots, a lot of the local cops would show up and us Rubes would kick their butts.
They eventually quit showing up.

It's fucking amazing to me that anyone would want to be a cop in U.S. America. It's a thankless job, where you deal with the general public all day everyday. If you've ever worked retail you know that in general, people are fucking assholes. U.S. America would be so much better if there were no cops. Everyone would be civil to everyone else, and there would be rainbows everywhere all the time.

The good news is most police officers out there strive to be 'good cops'.

The bad news: 1) there are laws/policies that tie the hands of police and take away their ability to practice discretion, and 2) the system will actively protect the bad eggs.

Sounds like the same argument against blacks commiting more crime than other races and illegal immigrants that republicans use

Because the 2nd amendment says you don't have to argue about it, at all. What is it people don't get about this?

Preeeeeeeetty sure the forefathers never intended for this to apply to assault rifles and protect people mowing down hundreds of innocent people at once. But hey, keep hiding behind that amendment, I'm sure that plus thoughts and prayers will make you feel better after your kid is shot in the face at school.

2nd amendment. No argument necessary.

i listened to the testimony of the cop in this case the other day. I also listened to much of the defense's case in the trial. I was pretty surprised at a lot of the facts that were never made public. This case has been going on in the media for about a year (it seems now) and just came to trial. It has sounded for a year like a no brainer. White cop lady walks into the wrong apartment on the wrong floor and thinks its her apartment, shoots and kills a black guy that lives there thinking he's a burglar. Stupid cop right?

Well, its a bit different story than that. First, she got up at 5 am that morning and worked until close to midnight. She was assigned to help SWAT that day on a pretty dangerous raid/search warrant thing.

anyway, it turns out that her apartment complex has a parking garage, but its all very confusing. Almost everyone that lives there gets off on the wrong floor once a week or so. The problem has something to do with which entrance you use to the garage and how the floors are not numbered. Even some of the cops responding that night to the shooting got off on the wrong floor. And once you are on a floor they all look exactly alike.

And that week the apartments were doing mold checks and had told everyone they would be coming in and out of apartments at odd hours. So this cop lady had taken her dog to her mom's, which was unusual. Her door had a problem with the lock and it was hard to lock. So she remembers every time she leaves the ritual she has to go through to get the door to lock and the deadbolt to catch. this door when she got home (not her door) was unlocked, so she knew immediately there was a problem.

Now, did she need to use deadly force? probably not. I don't know that part and I don't guess anyone will. It was just her and him in the apartment when the gun went off. I'm sure he thought someone was breaking in and was coming with a club or something and she was just as freaked out thinking he had broken in.

It was a terrible, tragic mistake. Not murder. Manslaughter. She won't do much time.

Sounds like a pretty good excuse if she wasn't a trained police officer, all police should be adequately trained to handle situations they solely manufacture by unlawfully breaking and entering into someone's home.

my money is on mistrial. i think the jurors will agree to let someone else decide this one.

It should have been enough for her to draw down on him and give him a second to explain. She was exhausted, so that mitigates.

yeah, or she got home (to what she thought was her apartment) and the door is unlocked and she assumes those fucking bozos that checked for mold had left it open because its hard to lock and she's pissed and she has 3 bags in her left hand, arm and shoulder (which she testified to) and only her gun hand available after she walks in and finds a guy coming to beat the shit out of her because he thinks she's a robber.
