(AST) Do you have a special dinner you love to prepare?

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.
It can get NSFW-ish here: you have been warned!

Between RD talking about horse cock, CQ talking about assraping placental mammals, and flumper imagining masturbation over BBQ sauce, I believe we've identified the 3 UJR members who are really, really into gay food fetish. I won't judge.

That answers quite a bit actually
Dude, we a quality seafood section from HEB just around the corner (kinda), just like you do.
Your restaurant has a seafood section?
Right there on the right side. When you are 400-500 miles away from the ocean, you don't expect that the catch of the day from the boat will be on the heat source within 30 minutes of unloading. We have a statewide store here called HEB. They have an excellent seafood section.
I live in the middle of 600 lakes. I can go into my backyard and catch a bass or a trout.
Well, good for you. What's your point if any? And any chance of foundering in said lakes?
Point is I live in the "middle of frickin' nowhere" and I have no seafood store. Nor do I have a need for one. My fish is fresh.

"My fish is fresh". I know you aren't involved, but after RD,CQ and flumper, any statement like this is suspect.

There's a HUGE difference between seafood and lakefood. Just sayin'.

Although, I would totally slit someones throat for some beer battered Pickerel cheeks.

Oh definitely there is. But if you have spent any serious time near an ocean you get spoiled. I walk into a seafood store up here and it makes me gag. I use to buy yellow fin tuna in Mexico for 50 pesos ($5), sometimes having to hit it again with the bat because it's still moving. THAT is fresh.

And Lake Ontario has some pretty decent Coho salmon.

I realize it's not possible with huge projects like Mead, Hoover, etc. But I would love to see this country start dismantling our dams on both coasts in all major rivers. 120 yo technology that's no longer needed. Would be interesting to see how long the salmon runs would, if possible return to normal. Among other huge environmental questions.

I'm pretty close but I haven't nailed it yet.
If you can find it, swap it out for coconut cream. Not cream of coconut because there is such an animal.
I completely eliminate water and go with only chicken broth. Do you use water? I think water makes it bland.
I do a half and half, but the coconut cream is much thicker. It's essentially 95% coconut and 5% water, so it doesn't dilute and it has a much richer coconut flavour.
That sounds like a good idea. I'll give it a shot. Do you use equal amounts of cream as you would milk? Or do you use less cream?
Equal amounts.
Wife just told me that she's gonna go see her parents next weekend. Perfect opportunity for me to try out this coconut cream idea.
If I fuck it all up, it's totally all your fault.

Your jib, I like the cut of it. Except for the microwaved broccoli. I do a quick steam with some cauliflower florets all lightly seasoned with McCormicks southwest seasoning just until it starts to change the shade of green to a paler shade to keep some firmness, but still tender.
