i saw a show that talked a lot about Hochi Minh (sp?). For all the negative that we heard about him, he wasn't just some lunatic. Yeah, he was fighting for communism, but that wasn't really his main thing. He just needed their numbers (sort of like North Korea did in that war).WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 12:31 am Probably the greatest fraud ever foisted on the US Congress was the LBJ 1963/64 "alleged" attack by N Viet "naval vessels" on US Naval vessels in the Gulf of Tonkin. What a bunch of horseshit. 10 years later, 50,000 US dead, 100,000 wounded, 3 million Vietnamese dead. BS
He wrote a letter to LBJ wanting to negotiate peace well before the shit hit the fan in that war. The letter never got to LBJ.

I call bullshit.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 10:34 pm Anyway I'll always admit when I'm wrong. I was drunk one Sunday afternoon and mentioned Gore's electricity bill.
You defended your statement for days after you made it. Just how many days were you drunk?
You only played the drunk card after you got backed into a corner and had nowhere else to turn.

What was really amazing was he will always be known in history about the Vietnam War, but he goes way back to attending the Treaty of Versailles ending WWI when he was young. Stayed in Paris and caught the Commie bug. Not only defeated the US in the 60's/70's but France a decade before that.Flumper wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 5:38 pmi saw a show that talked a lot about Hochi Minh (sp?).
