It was a terrible, tragic mistake. Not murder. Manslaughter. She won't do much time.
my money is on mistrial. i think the jurors will agree to let someone else decide this one.
I assume you already know the verdict is in. Murder.
no, i hadn't heard anything the last couple of days. my radio was on sports after the week-end.

This case in Dallas is interesting; her fellow police did try to help her. They stalled arresting her by, what, three days(?), and only after she was arrested did they finally give her a tox-screen. A theory was that she was drunk or high in the night in question- and that was how/why she made such egregious mistakes that lead to her killing her down stairs neighbor.
But, that move might have boned her in the end. Intoxication manslaughter would have been an easier conviction; but its also a much lesser crime.
Very curious what her sentence will end up being.

They attempted to smear the victim as well. That always looks nice.

I can't remember how long she was a Dallas PO (4 years or something?) But you know there was one fact that was damning in court. I'm assuming the vast majority of LEO's nationwide have never fired their service weapons on duty other than the shooting practice range. But like hiring practices that preach diversity, they are hiring unqualified women (JCW types- ignorant and wholly unqualified to even comment on the subject here). This was the second time in her short career she used her weapon to shoot someone.

Wow, WTC attacks women and a fellow poster in one shot. WTC you are in no position to accuse anyone of being incompetent.

Yeah sure, that's what my post was about. Sounds like she was unqualified to start with, but sounds to me like the PD "diversity policies" in big cities that puts PC BS over the safety of it's citizen's. And we all know which political party that comes from.

A cop shoots a black man in his own home and WTC blames liberals. If you have all these opinions on liberals how come we don't see you in SFW? Because you're a god damn coward.

So, tell me, in your opinion, what do you think she consciously did that night? Do you think she purposely went into the wrong apartment to murder some black guy because she hates black guys and then cooked up all of the rest of the story?

In law there are circumstances of recklessness that are so egregious as to be considered intentional. Driving down the wrong side of a highway drunk at 130 mph would be an example. In these cases a conviction for murder, for an intentional act, has been upheld.
This may be a similar type of case.
I expected manslaughter myself.

She consciously entered the apartment instead of calling for backup and murdered a man sitting on his couch eating ice cream. And She admitted on the stand that she went in there full well with the intent to murder whoever she found inside. That is intent, and that is murder.
