You all go about your life, locking your cars when you do something as simple as going to your local convenience store. Guess what I hear? every vehicle running. Terrible life.
Actually, that's quite common in the NJ town I live in as well.

I'll wait 24 hours so biker can explain to you idiots how world shattering this will impact your daily life.
But isn't it finite? I mean how long is the oil we have in the US going to last?
US oil peaked in the 70's until US Tech took over the last 10 years. 80% of all drilling rigs on Earth are drilling here in the Permian Basin. 120 Billion discovered/ more than 60% of the total OPEC reserves. Total historic reversal.

Have you ever heard of a book called "The Energy Non-Crisis" by Clifford Wilson and Lindsey Williams?
I would love to know your thoughts on it.
Basically he talks about how in the 70's massive oil wells were found, and made classified during the oil crisis of the day. Apparently we knew that far back that there was no shortage of oil, Alaska has more than Saudi Arabia.

Not true. Sounds like a conspiracy book. Look, here's the truth. Many Countries in the early- mid 20th century suddenly discovered they lived over vast reserves of oil/gas/ Instant wealth. Dreamed of their nations advanced to the Apex. Almost never happened. Corruption (Mexico-Russia)/ Wealth only to the ruling family (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait)/ Down right dangerous dictatorships (Iraq, Iran, Libya) buying arms by the Billions, invading other countries, Attempting to acquire and posses Nuclear weapons. And then we have the current example. Venezuela- sitting on the largest oil reserves on Earth- 3,000% inflation, 4 Million citizens have fled the country.
All these point to the same exact problem. All those situations are Nations that proclaim their oil/gas wealth is under that Nation's rule. Crushing innovation. Compare to the US/Canada and others. Private property laws let citizens own the mineral rights on their land. Huge.
So, my last. Welcome to my little town. Has to be one of the most documented 1,300 people towns on social media in the middle of fucking nowhere. [url][

I can't speak for the validity of the book, though it raises some interesting points.
Past that, you are spot on!

What really raised eyebrows in the last couple of years was the Saudi Prince elevated to the top. Pushing tech, green energy, etc, He sees the end of oil economy will be approaching rapidly and the country better get ready. Smart.

Smart move indeed. Even if only for self preservation.
Shame he seems like a fucking tyrant in a lot of ways, all under the banner of 'anti-corruption', of course. Gotta love that tiger squad.

Good luck to him on that. I have been hearing for years about how the Saudi fields are almost dry. Life expectancies of only 5 or 10 more years, etc. I will believe it when i see it. But, I know one thing. When those fields no longer produce enough oil to pay for that country to operate, nothing good can come from it. The royal family will fill their bags with money and move out and the rest of the place will become one big Detroit.

It already is.

Nah on the 5-10 year thing. Being a State run industry, Saudis keep any info on their oil secret. There have been rumors in the last 10 years or so that their top wells were starting to produce increasing amounts of water ( Not good to say the least). This Prince going before the Country and laying out a future agenda without oil I think is very smart and forward looking. It also kinda confirms the rumors. What I see is Saudi Arabia still being a swing state for maybe 15 years and then a massive production collapse afterwards. They have no future options. There is no shale production or anything else. Still for a Nation the size of maybe Texas, hell of a 100 year run that will never be equaled. Still goes to show, no matter how much you bring technology to bear, oil is a finite source in the end.

If they keep it a secret then why do you claim to know so much about it?

I said it was rumors, idiot. Does not matter. Saudi's are going IPO soon on the entire industry. The books get opened up. Like I said, hell of a 100 year run. The Saudi king back back in the 1920's carried the entire national treasury in his saddle bag on his camel.
