Bricks of cocaine wash up on Florida beaches from Hurricane Dorian waves

Paradise Beach, Florida — Hurricane Dorian sent wind and rains to the Florida coast, but the storm also washed something else ashore.

A Melbourne police officer was on patrol near Paradise Beach Park on Tuesday when he was approached by a concerned citizen.

The person directed him to a suspicious package on the sand, which contained a kilogram of cocaine.

The narcotics division is investigating where the drugs may have come from. The package will be destroyed, officials said.
