Hurricane Dorian

#1

Post by Stapes »

I moved last year from the Jersey Shore to Port St Lucie Florida. Hurricane models keep consistently having this thing come ashore at Category 4 right into my front door.

I have about a weeks worth of canned food and water but I don't know how I could last 2 days without electricity in 90 plus heat down here.

I'm in an over 55 mobile park. What do you think the over under is on my survival?

I do not own a record player.
I blame Biker.

From what I can gather from googling the last few minutes, being in a mobile home park on the coast when a Category 4 hurricane hits is probably the best option. Death should come quickly without much suffering. The experts say that it doesn't really matter if you are inside or outside of your mobile home when the worst part of the storm hits.

Generator with tons of gas. Survival? 50/50. We will sift through the debris for anything salvageable. Not hopeful knowing you.

That's a good question. One thing is that people who evacuate usually wind up in even worse situations and then aren't allowed back to their houses for weeks...….so its a gamble. I could boogie to Jersey and stay with friends but I'd like to see what God has in store.

Good luck to you. If it gets that bad though, you may not want to be there for weeks.

So... you moved from New Jersey to a trailer park in an area of Florida that gets 2 or 3 hurricanes every year?

If history stands true, you’re fucked, hurricane, tornado, storm surge, they all find mobile homes.

It’s like they are storm magnets, at least your wreckage might decapitate someone.

So, let me get this right. You and the wifey decided you wanted to move from NJ (?) to some place warmer. Looked all over the maps. She decided that flaccid dick state pointed toward Cuba looked good. You agreed and asked her where. She said as close the east shore as possible ( You know where the Hurricanes slam like a bullseyes every few years for 100,000 years). I'm guessing the real estate agent left with a smirk after that closing.
