As bad as Chernobyl was. most don't realize what the main problem is. With a massive breach like this, cesium 137 and others posed a major health risk. But, with a half life of days, weeks years, it just takes time to go away. The problem is the site, with BS containment procedures, it will continue to spew the crap for something like 10,000 years. I'm thinking the engineers on site never got their Lenin medals.
