i sometimes think some of these movies are more about how much they can make the actor look and seem like the person they are portraying than it is about the story.

I probably won't go see this in a theater, but Fred Rogers was a Saint among mortals. Any one could learn a lot from his simple message.

I think I would rather see a movie about Sweating to the Oldies.

Well, at least he doesn't have to compete with her when Meryl Streep wins again.

Re: Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers
This movie has Oscar-bait written all over it.
And there's hardly any standout male performances so far this year. Maybe Adam Driver in "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" but other than that...
At the very least Hanks will get an Oscar nom.

Definitely agree, the documentary was wonderful.hawkfan8812 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 3:15 pmThe "Won't You Be My Neighbor" documentary is amazing. I would expect this movie will be a bit more Hollywood and less actual facts.

Fred Rogers was such a good, decent man, that you have to wonder what his dark secret was? How can anybody, particularly a male, behave like that? Was he castrated as a youth?
