Google Chrome Question
I try to stay up to date, but all of the fraud protection stuff websites are putting on sites now is getting harder to understand.
I bought a part today online from a website holley.com. After I ordered it they set me up an account on their website so i could track the purchase. If I try to log onto the website with the username and pw they gave me in an email, it stops me during the sign in and says "Recaptcha not verified".
There is no box on the login page that you have to solve some little riddlel thing, but I did notice at the bottom there is a blue circle arrow in a little tab that says "recaptcha" If I hover it it gets bigger and has a link I can click that says ReCAPTCHA is changing its terms of service click to "take action". If I click that link it takes me to a page that is super confusing. I'm using google chrome and this page has a red exclamation point that says they are changing their terms of service and then there is a left arrow to click that says "Choose a key to Upgrade to Google Cloud Platform"'
Then I am taken to another screen with a bunch of confusing things to fill out.
Does anyone know what any of this is?

Re: Google Chrome Question
use Firefox...
ok riddle me this problem...cannot login to Chase Private Client account (opened 2001) on my PC now because :1-Chrome is not up to date (it is but I use FF) 2-I need to use only Win 10 or 11 (i have Win 7) 3-Something about CPU
no ad blocker on
So I was on the way to Chase bank to ask for my Windows update software from them or I was prepared to end the accounts on the spot. Citi or Truist accounts login just fine. I know Win 7 is old but it does everything I ask it to do,so if Chase requires Win 10-11 they can pay for it or not. Just as an exercise I tried to login to Chase on my Samsung S9 ,it worked.
I didn't update the phone -ever or phone Chrome. Explain that to me.

If your computer is still on win7, you need a new computer. They are inexpensive these days.

Re: Google Chrome Question
Still on Win 7,if it works 99% of the time it's hard to justify getting a replacement.Besides I don't want a laptop or small form PC. I got 4-5 opti plex small form 1 board for everything that cannot repair 'no sound' or 'display error' problems. My employer invested in hundreds of mini optiplex's that didn't last 2 years because minor errors that can't be repaired. Besides I'm cheap.hawkfan8812 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 8:07 pm If your computer is still on win7, you need a new computer. They are inexpensive these days.

If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Re: Google Chrome Question
Not exactly sure why an extension like that would need a certain version of the OS, but if you use the search box on that page and look for "user-agent switcher", you'll find many similar extensions. Some will most likely work better than others.fouts wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 6:56 aminteresting addon...,i tried to install it but said 'need Win 10 or higher' ,,still working on it..nerd_alert wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 3:57 amThis extension might help.
