I started watching Party Down a couple weeks ago and almost through the series - it's fairly short so far. If you like IASIP, Eastbound and Down, or Parks and Rec, you'll probably like this. Ken Marino is an underrated comedic actor.

The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

Scared the shit out of me in "Emperor of the North," though most think of him as a goody from his TV roles.
P.S. I guess I'm recommending that movie. Lee Marvin is the star.

I enjoy a good violent and funny cartoon, and The Legend of Vox Machina in Amazon is a great one.

Mad Magazine did a parody, and I can't stop thinking of this as "The Poopside-Down Adventure" though.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 1:39 pmBorgnine should have got an Oscar nomination for "The Poseidon Adventure".FSchmertz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 1:05 pmErnest Borgnine is on my all-time underappreciated actors list.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 3:36 amCheck out the 1980 version with Richard Thomas and Ernest Borgnine.stonedmegman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 2:51 amI'm aboot halfway through the 2022 version and honestly I am preferring the 1930 version at this point.disco.moon wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 1:06 amThe new one. I was thinking aboot it and realized that the big difference between the two was that the 1930 version has no soundtrack.

man, those are my kind of shows. so its real life. these are real people, not acting, and they either survive or they tap out?disco.moon wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 1:21 am I'm watching the new show Outlast on Netflix. People stranded in Alaska on different teams live or die.
Naked and Afraid is a good premise of a show, but holy shit. when people have to tap out on day 3 because of ant bites from going barefoot, that's not a survival show.

Yes, it was pretty good. There's different camps of people and they're able to abandon their current camp and go to a different one. There's challenges.Animal wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 2:48 pmman, those are my kind of shows. so its real life. these are real people, not acting, and they either survive or they tap out?disco.moon wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 1:21 am I'm watching the new show Outlast on Netflix. My favorite part about some of these survival shows are people who come on like this one woman, she talks about her horrible past with Heroin addiction, living on the streets, getting beat up, and making her way back to recovery. They talk about how this makes them really strong and whatnot but they don't talk about how this gives them any kind of experience in living in the wilderness in Alaska LOL.

I'll admit, when I heard they were doing a sequel to Top Gun with a now 45 year old (whatever) pilot, all I could think about was the same Hollywood out of new ideas cliche. I mean, the original was pretty much just Summer blockbuster hot air. But watching the new one, I'm pretty impressed. Gives you a nostalgia feel while blowing away the original in every category. I'm damned surprised how good it is. Tom Cruise underrated his entire career.

I don't know why I watched the rest of that but it was just not worth it.
If you have plans to see it save your time and money. Who ever made this needs to be hung up by the eyelashes and kicked in the balls until they blink.

If you haven't seen it yet, the Waco documentary on Netflix is pretty darn good.

Lately I've been binging From. It's from the creators of Lost, and it has a similar feel but leans much more into the horror element. Great show, but handicapped by not being on a more popular streaming platform. It's the only thing MGM+ has going for it.
9/10 so far, the gore is fantastic however the lack of boobs leaves me wanting.

Yeah, when it was good it was really good but "yikes" when it was bad it was really bad. A ton of really great moments but a lot of clunkers too. Overall still a great show. I wonder if they would do anything different in hindsight?

It was the best show ever in the first half. The last half was unwatchable. And it had absolutely the worst ending that could have been created.
