It's not really me (I won't be posting again until tomorrow). It's my Spirit, not my Body.

It's a well known fact that the Irish potato famine was actually caused by the Romans burying miles and miles and miles of lead pipes in the ground for fresh water systems. Over years and years and years the pipes corroded and began to deteriorate. This caused all the potato plants in Ireland to get lead poisoning.
To this day most Irish people have red hair and freckles due to the massive amount of lead in their bodies.

When you sober up I'll teach you how things work in sports pools. There will be a test on Tuesday, so try really hard to stay sober for at least 36 hours.

Actually I started this thread because I'm at a dead-end. Last night, finished season 7 of "Vikings" at $24 BS from Amazon. Need streaming suggestions. I bogged down in season 2 of "Stranger Things". Finished S1 of "Expanse" but haven't gone past that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The New England Patriots finish the season with a record of 12-5 for a win % of 70.59

The Miami Dolphins finish the season with a record of 11-3 for a win % of 78.54

The Dolphins have fewer losses and a better win percentage... but they played in 3 fewer games.

Who wins the AFC East? The Pats or the Dolphins?

Once upon a time there was a football spread pool in UJ.

Guys would make 5 spread picks each week. Whoever finished the season with the most correct picks won.

WTC joined the pool but didn't make picks in the first 3 weeks of the pool because he said you can't know enough about the teams that early in the season. So basically, he played 3 less weeks than the rest of us.

He then spent the rest of the season saying he could win the pool based on win % and not total # of wins.

while on a remedial level of mathematics, WTC's logic is correct. A percentage of correct answers is equal for comparison purposes to completely random events. For example, if a kid takes a test at one school with 100 questions about the civil war and gets 80% of the answers correct, and another kid at another school takes a question about the civil war with 80 questions and gets 85% correct, then you could argue that the second child is more knowledgeable on the civil war.

However, in this situation, on betting football games, the answers are not right or wrong based on facts, they are right or wrong depending on outcomes. As a season progresses, the outcomes become slightly more easy to predict. While the spread should counter that advantage, it cannot counter the difficulty of the early predictions when very little information is present. In this situation, getting answers correct in the early part of the season would be much more difficult. I would rule that a player entering the competition after the first week would be ineligible for any prize or title given to the winner. I love you.

I should also mention that in the final year we had the pool I went 4-1 in the first week, and 5-0 in the second week. (which kind of defeats the whole not knowing anything about the teams argument)
By the end of the 2nd week WTC was already down 9 games.

Gladly. Yearly football pool, conducted by what turned out to be a math retard. I always abstained for the first 2 weeks to access all the changes all the teams had done in the off season. Then did the 5 each week for the entire season and playoffs Got down to the final close week and I was was third (percentage wise) but with a chance to win. Retard said I had 4 less wins, so no chance. I pointed out I had 8 less losses. Retard said only wins matter. Math Junior College courses were suggested by me. End of story.
