It is. But it's a pain in the ass. The monitors in those things are ancient and weigh a fucking ton. And everything is wired to the motherboard. I have an arcade machine and the monitor recently started to go. needs a cap kit to restore the color/integrity of the graphics. Like having an old car. I'm a purist and I love all that shit, but it's much easier nowadays to get a cabinet with a PC inside that has 10,000 games loaded on it and modern monitor.

About 10 years ago my buddy and i built a few cabinets in his garage and just gutted a few old tvs, wired up some buttons and sticks, stuck in a few relatively cheap and outdated pcs and loaded up mame and had every game we wanted.. street fighter became a favorite and much time was wasted.

Street Fighter was one of the games that led me down the path to having to quit gaming cold turkey. I basically did not stop playing until I beat Bison with every character. Col Guile was my favorite though followed by Chun Lee.

If you haven't played Street fighter 3rd strike, you've never really seen the best of that game.. the depth and timing of the moves is insane.. some players could chain 12 moves together into unstoppable kills everytime. It was awesome.

there might have been more than one. But I know that TyX used to refurbish old machines. If I remember right he was building one that would play multiple "old school" video games. It seems like his idea was to create a universal machine system that you could put any game into.

Yeah, instead of upgrading the old arcade games with more modern tech so it could play multiple games, space ace was only interested in recreating the past by refurbishing them with their original tech to their original specs to re-inact that 70/80's experience.

For those of us that have worked multiple jobs over the years to get by, we have missed many highly rated tv shows. Now I work one and get a SS check every month.
Many cable channels run these shows from beginning to end of series, I’v Programmed this thing into next week to enjoy what many saw a long time ago.
No tapes, discs just a mini puter, life is good.

Chipsets were the IC's. There was usually a few that were propitiatory to certain games.

I use to do pinball machines. The last one I refurbished was a 1979 Williams machine called Time Warp. It was the last machine before the first talking machine, which was Gorgar.

Anyway, when I got it the main board was toast. I got a replacement from a tabletop soccer game and replaced the chipset.
