I fly out early tomorrow to the east coast for a job interview. Kinda hard to say if I'll take it if it's offered. Gonna need to be a substantial pay increase to get me out there.

May I suggest you take the George Carlin approach to your interview. First off the bat, inform them that " I can't start working for a month, but need to be paid right away". Later, demand that "I need an office by the exit door because at 5 I'm out of here". If all else fails, look at the owners photo on his desk of his wife/ daughter and exclaim "Who's the Cunt?"

This reminds me of a shop I used to supervise that was owned by this perverted rich dude. It employed several hundred people and he built it from scratch. He basically had a home built into the shop where he spent most of his time when he came in. Everyone knew what it meant when he called a certain cute little quality control girl into his "office". She walked around like she owned the place and did almost no actual work. None of the supervisors could say anything because we knew it wouldnt get us anywhere. She was golden and she knew it. He treated her really well, too; buying her all kinds of stuff. Worked out well for both of them. This is the same place where I chased the "whale tail" QA girl for 6 months before I finally got her. Since they were both QA people and got along I got to hear all of the juicy info relayed to my side piece from the owners side piece.
