At the old UJ we used to have a guy in SFW named posthuman. I used to give him shit all the time that he was a paid Democrat operative because he would defend and deflect even the most egregious Democrat misdeeds. I called him The Loyal Soldier (CaptQuint has since picked up the slack). Finally, one day he let it slip that he was indeed some low level flunky for the Democrat party in Iowa.

Not sure what my point is but I suppose it shouldnt be a secret that organizations, companies and even entire countries are using people online to influence our opinions, purchases and/or decisions.

Sometimes they’re obvious, but they’re only going to get more sophisticated. The problem with detection is you have to know the motivation behind them.

Propaganda works? If you think the CIA, RNC, DNC and most governments don't have internet trolls (usually bots) pushing specific propaganda - you really haven't been paying attention. Twitter is literally full of party insiders who are paid to troll specific messages and repeat the party talking points for that week.

Like Venezuela currently. Yemen, Syria, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Honduras in the past 18 years. The US has had trade sanctions on Venezuela since the Dubya Presidency and repeatedly keeps ratcheting it up and then says they are a failed government.

Note: major US media outlets pointed to a bridge that had never been opened - declared Venezuela closed it to prevent aid from entering. The propaganda is simply amazing.

I think it was the Israeli's but yeah. Plus we've put an economic embargo on them and tried to stir up a coup attempt during the Obama years.

If you remember, the US (Bill Clinton) gave money and other aid to Yeltsin to make sure he won in Russia over hardliners.

In Brazil someone (cia) hacked into the government and Petrobras and gave oil industry documents to US oil companies so they could be more competitive.
