What was the best beer you made?

Mine was an imperial stout. I was doing an extract kit with fresh makes to start. I had 3 gallons of water in the pot and my stove is struggling to heat it let alone bring it to a boil so I run out and get a turkey fryer and put it on the back porch, except it's snowing and maybe 20 degrees out. It's just not working so I hit the fuck it button and build a fire and get that going. Throw the pot on the fire and finally it gets up to temp fire me too pull the grains out and keep it boiling going through the rest of the steps. I get done with the initial fermentation and I boiled a bunch of oak chips and toss them in the carboy. 6 months later I had an amazing smokey oaked imperial Stout, which I have not yet had an opportunity to try to duplicate.

I have no idea what's involved in Home Brewing. What equipment do you need and how much does it cost to get started?

You can start with a little as a gallon jug, a box of oatmeal, and a strainer of you want.

I once came across a method using an old coffee maker as a tun to create the wort. I used to do home brewing about ten years ago, but never really got very good at it. Fun but very time consuming hobby. I'd still like to try growing my own hops, though.

Damn I've been busy. I currently have 2 gallons raspberry mead, 3 gallons concord grape wine, 2 gallons hard apple cider and mead (cyser), 2 gallons mango habenaro, 4 gallons traditional, 5 Gallons of cranberry mead all fermenting and aging right now.

Oh and fuck Texas, my chilli has beans in it again.

Your version is broken, it needs the beans. There are some up here that use noodles, go preach to those heathens.

I almost have in to the temptation to sprinkle in a little Carolina reaper, as it's some people say it's too spicy.

Everything got bottled and I've started a Dragons milk clone except I've added 10 pounds of honey, half of it had been caramelized. This shit is going to hit 18% alcohol if it ferments out competely. Once it's fermented I'll be adding in lingonberry, cardamom, clove, and oak chips.

I'm curious how this will turn out, the best I've been able to do is 14% abv. What yeast are you using?

D47 and I have some heavier stuff on standby if needed. I should have diluted it a hair but I think I want it to finish out at about 1.02 or 1.03 sg. That'll make it a bit sweeter and maltier for when I add the oak chips.
