Certainly. We would have had one this time if it hadn't been for the virus. And I think I say that without some prejudice. Things were going really well up until that hit.
and you have to admit, that's a pretty unlikely event.

The way I see it each side is gonna be outraged by being led by the opposite party for 4 years and we're gonna go back and forth until a sizable third party is formed. What that party would look like I haven't a clue.

It will be somewhere down the middle. And it will dwarf the republican and democratic parties.
A truly fiscally conservative yet socially liberal party would be nice.

No. I think Biden is going to give such a small shit about anything that everyone is going to be just fine with him. This is going to be a 4 year victory lap for Biden's long career and he's not going to run for a 2nd term. We've never elected a lame duck for a first term, so it will be interesting. But the race for 2024 starts now. IF trump doesn't get involved and run again, then i pray the republicans come up with a middle of the road likeable guy/girl with the ability to keep his/her mouth shut that simply wants to push a conservative agenda of smaller government, lower taxes, relaxed regulations, energy independence, a good business climate, and strong states rights.

I agree, if not for the virus Trump would have had an easy election.

I doubt John would take the co-pilot seat but having a woman on the top bill is a double edged sword

I think the country will be ready for someone younger. Kasich will be 72 in 2024. A good candidate would likely be someone 48-60 yrs old.

I remember after Nixon was impeached, Ford lost the next election to Carter. Seemed impossible to think another Republican could win after Nixon.
4 years later, we got Reagan.
So, never say never.
I see Romney as a potential 2024 candidate, but I won't vote for him, even to put Kamala out.

I'll be 45 and will run under The Bull Moose Party. If I won I bet the righties here would not totally hate my policies

Reagan’s first wife divorced him because he was boring and always talking about politics.

2 terms will continue to be the norm, incumbency is a big advantage. You have to really fuck up to only get one. Or in Biden's case, die of old age.

There is something about our governmental structure that lends itself to only two dominant parties. Maybe it's as simple as the way we elect our President - we don't form coalition governments.

I think lobbyists control dc more than the politicians. Thats why I wanted Trump. Less involvement with lobbyists.
