Oscars?

So who’s going to be watching? Not me.
I don’t go to the movies, haven’t for years. Watch a lot of Netflix and amazon prime video.
When I was a kid, the whole family used to watch the oscars together. Who’s going to get best director, actor, actress, film?! So excited! Now, I couldn’t give a shit.

I'm a certified movie fanatic but I haven't watched the Oscars since Paul Newman got robbed for "The Verdict".
If I had a brick in my hand I would have thrown it through my TV.

There’s an old saw about how the oscars are always trying to rectify a past wrong. So Newman loses for The Verdict and wins for Color of Money. Then someone else got slighted because of that - presumably.

Yeah, his win for Color of Money was a pity Oscar. Kind of like DiCaprio a few years ago for The Revenant and John Wayne for True Grit.

For several years I've Nebraska'd all the nominated movies over January and February and watched the Oscars. I've only watched maybe 3 of them this year so I'll likely skip it. I have most downloaded, just haven't watched them. I never watch super hero movies so there is that.
The Favourite sucked balls. Rachel Weisz is damn sexy but that movie sucked.
Bohemian Rhapsody was ok but it tried to do a movie over too long of a period. Should have cut it down to a few years and given us more depth.
Green Book was a fine movie.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever watched them. I just never cared for the whole awards show thing.

I tried the past two years but there are too many agendas.
And since they nominated all "white" films a few years ago, they are tripping over themselves to be black friendly.
I too will pass again this year.

Used to be "must see" every year for me. Like Biker, I haven't watched in 10+ years. I will predict what the secondary story will be tomorrow- lowest rated Oscars in history- you heard it here. These idiots don't seem to realize they are in a "business". So when you spew your lib Hollywierd crap (and everybody stands and applauds) and Robert Deniro yells out "FUCK TRUMP" on stage to a standing ovation, well CONGRATS, you just alienated half of your audience who will never watch either this show ever again or watch your past or future movies ever again. Hell of a business strategy.

Black Panther will win for best picture. AA’s and their allies will come to their feet at once, cheering in victory. There will be power salutes. Nobody will be embarrassed by the absurd spectacle.
Alternately, BP will lose, and there will be grumbling about Hollywood racism.
Bet an avatar there will be a positive comment sometime in the broadcast about Jussie Smollett.
“We love you Jussie!” Something like that.

Just to show you what idiots are running Hollywierd. There is this faux feminist outrage movement about supposed sexual harassment in the industry. And the official name is "#MeToo". Now in the vast majority of the World, the symbol (#) means "Pound". Let that sink in.

The fact that Black Panther is even in the conversation is a goddamn joke. Their agenda couldn’t be more transparent nominating it.

I'm being judged by an idiot that lives in the snow 6 months a year? Good luck with that flying muster.

All award shows are a fucking joke. It's just whatever industry is hosting it's way of stroking itself. Behind the scenes politics, and media pandering. They are all a waste of time.

If you've ever seen any awards show for anything where you weren't forced to by being reluctantly in the audience, you're probably a twat.
