The people who should, in theory, be most offended dont really care about the name. Its mostly white folks with a guilt complex. If most actual Native Americans dont care, why should we?

The way I hear it is that Dan Snyder (owner) wants to move the redskins back into Washington DC. But the problem is that the land that the stadium was on, and the same land that the new stadium will be on (if he does it) is Federal Land. And that Federal Land is run by the Indians and the head of those Indians will not let them back with the name Redskins.

That's pretty much the reason they had to move them out to Maryland. Snyder wants to come back to DC. And they have promised him a new stadium. But he has to change the name.

Which he will in order to do the deal.

Does it really make any sense after all this bullshit to name ANYTHING after a human? I mean, how are we going to be able to predict what some future generation might view about the life that person led? Why put them through the crap of dealing with it.

While we are at it, what about the Seattle Seahawks? The Seahawks name promotes the drunken homosexuality of small town mayors in the state of Washington.

Fed Ex pulled their financial support and Nike has pulled their Redskins merchandise. Multiple retailers including Amazon pulled all Redskins merchandise in the last week or two. Along with the stadium issue, that's why he's changing the name.
