I voted Democrats from '80 up to 2008, when I went Green. I would have preferred Hillary over Obama then, but that didn't happen, and wasn't really happy with the direction the party went.

I have voted qualified local and state Republicans over less qualified Democrats in the past, but never for national elections.

I turned 18 in 1972. The first year 18 year olds could vote. Have voted Republican except voted for Perot when Clinton won. Wasn’t able to vote the second time aclinton won because of an emergency trip.

Carter x2
Reagan
George H.W. Bush x2
Clinton
George Bush x2
John McCain
Barack Obama
Hilary Clinton

Best I can figure, most of the the time I initially vote for the Republican, but if the Democrat wins and they aren't horrible, I vote for them next time.

The exception would be Carter, and I think in that case I voted for what I thought was a conservative/moderate Democrat and someone who was a Rickover Nuclear officer. Then I voted for Reagan's second term.

Pretty much this, except for Johnson. Perot would have been a hoot.
