Has anyone watched this series?

A friend of mine mentioned this the other day so I started with season 1 of 5. Halfway through and its not bad.

Watched all of them. Great series.

Vikings is great. However, I think I must have first started watching the series on HULU or somewhere because I remember there was nudity in the show......now I'm watching this season on History channel and there is nothing. So there is some censorship depending on where you watch it.

It was and still is a History Channel series. They didn't make 2 versions (that I know of). While it is "clean" (sex wise) compared to say HBO or original Netflix series, they still show people copulating, etc, just not the actual full nudity. I guess partial nudity is what I'm saying. And of course it does have graphic violence. At least, that's my understanding.

Yes, you are correct. I decided to go check the "IMDb site and just found this/" Extended version shows full frontal nudity and sex scenes.
Reviewers note that there is an extended sex scene in season 4. And that the show gets progressively more gratuitous in depicting sex as the seasons go on.
It should be noted there a several different versions of the episodes, extended versions have nudity, tv versions don't. Most versions in the US are without nudity. BluRays have both the censored-for-TV and the uncensored, extended versions. Amazon Instant Video shows the censored version.
This series features sexual themes, but only very sparingly does it depict anything in an exploitative manner. Most nudity is non-sexualised and very brief.
In season one there is a rape scene where a young slave is raped (lasting roughly 10 seconds).
TV version is rated TV-14 so things are never explicit on television. It never goes beyond shows like The Walking Dead"

No shit. Any way, doesn't matter to me. A lot of series put that in and it sometimes distracts and actually lowers the quality of the series. Some anyway. My opinion.

Funny, the cultural divide between say the US and Europe. Our version censures the nudity but allows full graphic violence. I would not be surprised if the European version allows full nudity but censures the violence.

I have. It took me a while to get tired of it. I’m caught up to the current season, but they’ve jumped the shark too often, so I’ll probably drop it.

Nope. Censure maybe, but not censor. I haven't looked into the rules in other EU countries, here the only restriction is if it's got violence or boobs it has to wait until after 9pm and be preceded by a warning if it's extreme. Not if it's just got boobs though, your momma has boobs. You sucked them. Kinda weird to be hung up on it when you're all growed up to the european mind.

It's been like that for over 100 years to the earliest days of Hollywood. Been commented on forever. Not my say.

So, what's the most current season showing? I've been waiting for the new season and have no idea when it'll be available.
