My wife’s uncle died unexpectedly. He was only 61 and probably thought he was still invincible. Hie has a password on his computer and all of their financial information is on that computer. Any suggestions on how to break the password so his family can access his computer?

The password may be linked to the disk being encrypted.

Which version of what operating system?

If the disk itself is not encrypted this shouldn’t be a problem. Lots of info out there. Google it. Here’s something I just found with a simple search:

Hiren's is the bomb but can create a BSOD with some operating systems.

First thing I would do is make complete disk backup,with Acronis or sometime like it. That way if the attempts lock you out you still have a virgin copy to fuk with.

Hey, Whackov. Saw your thread earlier and had time to think about. There maybe a non-technical solution to your problem. Big maybe. It's been my experience that older people with multiple passwords across multiple platforms almost always write them down somewhere in one source, like a notepad or something. Check around the desk where he did his bills and such and even around his computer desk if he had one separate. You might just get lucky.

Probably. Maybe just need to put yourself in the deceased man's frame of mind on where he would put the list. Safe? Locked briefcase at work? It's pretty endless. I don't do any banking/ financials online so I have the same password for everything. My worse case scenario, someone can watch a couple of free Netflix movies on my dime. That also could be case here, so it was in the dude's head- No way to crack that case. We'll see what Whackov says.

A friend was asking if there was an easy way to unlock my sister in laws phone and discreetly look for possible nudes. I called him a creep and told him I'd ask.

I have a program that adds an admin account to the computer as long as it’s a windows machine, version doesn’t matter. Once the admin account is created you can reset the account you do not know the password to.

This program is ridiculous. It’s why I password protect my bios now. Give me 5 minutes at your laptop or pc and I will have a admin account created and reset the password of every single account. My users at work forget passwords all the time.
