My Father taught me how to play poker. He started when I was about 5 years old. I've turned into a pretty darn good poker player if I do say so myself.

My Father taught me how to fish. I never did turn into much of a fisherman, but it was countless hours spent with my Father and you can't replace something like that.

My Father taught me how to be a driveway mechanic. I got pretty darn good at it and it lead to what I chose as my major in college.

My Father taught me how to shoot. Handguns, rifles, shotguns... you name it, I've fired it. I'm right-handed and have uncorrectable 20/200 vision in my right eye but he was able to teach me how to shoot left-handed. That was no small feat.

My Father was a whiskey connoisseur who had an encyclopedic knowledge of whiskey. I never turned down an opportunity to learn about whiskeys from him and he was eager to teach me.

My Father taught me to drive when I was 11 because he got drunk in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and made me drive back to NYC

There really aren't that many things that Dad directly taught me. A few odds things, like ship dead reckoning with a sextant, along with basic boat handling and knot making. Mostly nautical stuff. Other things he figured a guy should know how to do, but I wound up learning them on my own without his help. Usually just his criticism. I also learned to cook, but by doing exactly *opposite* the way he did. How to handle a rifle is another, but unfortunately I never learned his knack at ammo reloading, sadly.

I have my father's tastes in a lot of stuff though, like music and reading. And porn.
Edit: and also his somewhat socialistic leaning politics.

Actually different from some of these other responses. He taught me responsibility, hard work, kindness, civic duty, etc the list is pretty long.

My deadbeat father taught me how to trick the parking meters using the ring tops from beer cans. Unfortunately for me I was 5 and didn’t drive or drink. By the time I was old enough to use this knowledge beer cans no longer used ring tops and parking meters were different.

The asshole also bought me a set of encyclopedias when I was born, so by the time I was able to use them the info was almost a decade outdated. Thanks, you useless fuck!

Dad taught me about tools and how to use them. He instilled a love of science that led to my career.

He also taught me how to get out of painting the house. (The secret is: When first asked say yes, start immediately, do a crappy job, splatter paint everywhere. You'll never be asked again)
