Wouldn't surprise me.

I have to question the tactic of fighting gas theft by shutting off the gas and crippling large swaths of your country.

Mexico needs its own yellow vest rebellion.
Why? Half of them are here.
Because, like too many other governments across the globe, it seems to me Mexican leadership gives zero fucks about their people.

Look at the people who died in this video; most weren't getting gas to sell- they needed gas just to get to their jobs and to live their lives because they have none in town.

Complete bullshit.
You might not be old enough. Bit I remember gas lines, and odd and even listened plates to fill your tank etc. we didn’t tap into gas lines.

I am not sure how bad the crisis really is, but I do know that those people are idiots. Sorry, it is true. Can you make matins the dimes in the air?

The liquid in gas does not light, it is the fumes. They had to be everywhere.

Can't say the USA hasn't tried. The whole point behind NAFTA during Reagan/ Bush/ Clinton was to boost their economy so they would stop coming here. And like every BS govt project, the idiots didn't notice that China would become the World's 2nd largest economy in only 20 years making Mexico Moot except for the Cartels.

Back in the 1930's, Mexico was sitting on the World's largest oil Fields. On their way to prosperity. What did they do? Socialist Nationilized (SP) the entire oil industry and everybody left. Been shithole country from then to today.

Eh... never was a fan of NAFTA. Or any of these 'free trade agreements' that really have nothing to do with actual free trade.

We have laws on the books that, if properly enforced, illegals here would self-deport in mass. Mexico is capable, but unwilling, to take steps to help itself; hence why their plan to stop gas theft is to literally cripple parts of their own Country. Too long the Mexican dream has been to sneak here, take advantage of our welfare system, work tax-free, and send the bulk of the money home to the motherland. Which is complete bullshit- and I see it all the time.

Also, we seem to be empowering the cartels by our drug policies here at home. We could deflate their entire drug market and restore some of our own humanity by mitigating the police/prison industrial complex simply by legalizing and decriminalizing drug use and sales. Hell, Big Pharma already kills more people with legal opioids than illegal heroin. But, no American industrial complex will ever truly get neutered.

Mexico will continue to fuck over their people until the entire Country does what Cherán did.

And Trump has simply stated that we have a major problem with our S Border. Something that has been obvious to us on the ground for over half Century. I'm pretty sure I can speak from experience since I'm sure I'm the only UJR'r that lives within 70 miles of the border and stands in line watching these people with multiple kids use their food stamps. Insane

And Trump was correct when he said it. Super glad he reverse the old OTM clauses on Immigration and I really hate the fact that these blue cities have the gall to declare themselves sanctuary cities, as these moves are purely political.

That said, even though 5.7 billion represents less than .6% of the Trillion dollar budget (and denying such a paltry amount in such a bloated budget is purely political hoopla); I find the idea of building a wall to be a foolish proposition. Trump is already doing half of what he needs to- and that is simply enforcing existing immigration laws.

There needs to be more penalties to employers who hire illegals, no welfare for illegals, an update on the birthright clause, and the process to come in legally needs to be amended so good, honest, hard working people can get here easier. All these steps are cheaper, and much more effective than any wall would ever be.
captquint wrote: Tue Jan 22, 2019 1:55 am Was it a problem 16 months ago? Because if it was you should blame those lazy republicans for not building a wall to protect you and your food stamps
Yes. It has been a problem for decades. I would say its been a problem ever since Operation Wetback back in the 50's.

This idea they are doing jobs Americas won't is idiocy. Curb the welfare system completely, stop rewarding single mothers who just have kid after kid with no father and expect the government to give them food and shelter, and I guarantee people in America will fill any and all job openings.

We have a large subset of people who are in a poverty cycle that punishes them if they try to escape --> that needs to change. Allowing more illegals in the Country does not help our own, and fuck the bullshit- we need to take care of our own issues before we go fixing the worlds.

You know what is odd? How other countries with the means to prosper for government different from ours, then collapse into hell and into shitholes, but here, people blame us, and our ways.

You are 100% right about Mexico, and there are so many one examples.

They have nobody to blame but themselves.
