On the speaker issue:
“This is a healthy, free Republican Party,” Gingrich continued. “We’re not the Nancy Pelosi machine. We don’t have the culture of the Democrats. We’re not a collection of mascots led around by the nose and that's part of the nature of being Republican. If you want to be an independent, free-thinking person who has to get up and argue your case, you ought to be Republican. If you want to be part of a group that does all you’re told by your boss, you ought to be a Democrat.”

So here are the "concessions" the holdouts for the speaker vote were pushing for:

*Changes to how House is run (good thing)
*Freedom Caucus members on key committees (good thing)
*Creation of Committee to investigate FBI (good thing)
*A budget that doesnt allow for increase to debt ceiling (good thing)
*end to all Covid mandates and funding (good thing)
*term limit vote (good thing)
*single subject bills (good thing)
*allowing at least 72 hours for members to read bills (good thing)

Seems to me these are all a positive step for the American people.
Good for them for holding out and getting results that will affect real change

Sorry, but the attempts to impeach/investigate/pontificate will be the ultimate priority.

Also, what's to say McCarthy actually honors those promises? He's got a single member no confidence sword of Damacles hanging over his head. Talk about fantasyland.

Remember when the Dems said the subpoena was sacrosanct? I wonder now that the shoes on the other foot if they will all comply?
Peppermint patty already dodged one subpoena.

The pants too. And WTF is up with the other kid looking like he grabbed the first couple things out of his dirty clothes hamper? Jeezus H. Christ. Dont put some decent clothes on for the special occasion or anything. Quality parenting on full display.

I like Fetterman. He doesn't appear to buy into the fluffed up phoniness that happens to first term elected officials.

just switch them over to whatever department processes tax returns and speeds up the refunds. If their inefficiency remains on this pace, we will soon be 5 years behind on tax returns.
