They foolishly think a more MAGA opponent is easier to beat. So, instead of being realistic and keeping the moderate that would benefit both their party and America, they'd rather throw it all away.

Iran's strategy in the war seems to be coming into focus. They are going to hit random targets in all of their neighboring countries, primarily oil refineries and oil related facilities. This increases the pressure on the US from multiple points to try to stop the fighting. If Iran can get Bahrain and Qatar and Jordan and whoever else around there to pressure us to stop the fighting. Even if its countries affected by oil supplies coming out of that area, pressure is pressure. China is the largest consumer of oil in the world and a great percentage of their oil comes out of iran. Even China is sending a group to the region to try to facilitate an end to the fighting (so they can keep getting the oil supply).

This is basically a hail mary from the regime that wants the fightint to stop before they are out.

At least they have a strategy
