I heard a news cast last night on local news. they were doing a story on the "explosion" of early voters this year. They showed the totals of each day in Tarrant County in the last 4 days. And the numbers, as they described, were just shocking they were so high. Almost 50,000 early voters EVERY single day in the first 4 days. New Records! THey interviewed the guy in charge of early voting in Tarrant County and he was just glowing with the reviews of how his people were handling the "onslaught" of early voters. Compared to other years this was just breath taking. Then the reporter said that, "when you compare JUST these last 4 days to the first 4 days in 2016, we have seen nearly 10,000 more early votes this year! Its amazing".
When you do the math on 50,000 votes per day for 4 days and have a 10,000 increase, that's 5% more this year than 2016. I think a 5% increase hardly merits that kind of news story.
I was talking to the PC last week and she was saying that they had 37 volunteers to help at polls in 2016. This year, 11.

I don’t want to get the COVID, so I won’t go near this polling place. Voting isn’t worth the risk, speshully since I have a .02% certainty of getting sick.
Those are terrible odds.

Great question!
I am a risk-taker @ heart. But I like using the COVID as a foil so I can blame someone else for not being rich or happy.

when you factor in the percent chance of catching covid, the percent chance of a bad outcome from covid, the percent of virus an N-95 mask will keep out and the percent of virus that a surgical mask will keep out and he probably has a negative chance of getting covid. He is literally probably safer from catching covid than before covid existed.
