I'm old enough to remember passing a Sambo restaurant. Never went inside but I heard the interior plantation theme was a hit. I like the idea of the waitresses being all black in slave clothes. Real selling point in the Deep South.

The place went belly up when they outlawed the whip station at every table to hurry the staff up. Service went to shit after that.
