They were also a metaphor for racism. Tolkien was one of the truly great authors of the last century. Gandalf is easily my favourite literary character of all time. I love his dialogue and views on the world.

That's unfortunate. Mine wasnt around. I'm kinda doing this mock thing blind but just fucking showing up day in and day out seems to be 90% of the battle.
