Now, if we've gotten past the Canadian Retard, can we get back to main subject which is cartoons. Thanks.

A pug? Thanks. Looks like they are kinda distant related to bulldogs without the same facial features. Same body style.necronomous wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:04 amA pug. Officially Bandit is a Bulldog. But he's drawn more like a cross between a Pug and a Bulldog. This was done on purpose to give him a more "playfull" appearance and a look of vulnerability. Which is also why they chose to make him white in colour.necronomous wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:04 amA pug. I heard he was a terrible drunk. Very abusive to cast and crew behind the scenes.
Currently AFK.

Probably got it from his Grandparents- The Foghorns. Very abusive toward the slaves.

How about Speed Racer? For a 8 year old boy, I found it to be a must see. I guess some other 8 year old in Hollywood grew up and later convinced a major studio to shell out $100M on a film version. One of the biggest bombs in movie history. I'm guessing that former 8yo no longer works there.

Interesting, How did you know that? When I was 8, my exposure to SR was sitting in front of the TV eating Saturday morning "Capt Crunch" cereal watching him jump 300 ft gorges with his "o" face, like he wasn't going to make it.FSchmertz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:12 pmAnother Japanese Anime, btwWestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:35 pm How about Speed Racer? Speed Racer lost $20 million bucks in its theatrical release (which isn't even a blip on the radar of movie bombs let alone being one of the biggest bombs in movie history) and it eventually went on to turn a profit after years of DVD rentals.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:35 pm How about Speed Racer? And as for those now unemployed movie folks you refer to... they made The Matrix trilogy and V for Vendetta, so I think they're doing okay.

I was a big fan of that show, especially into Racer X, who was secretly his older brother.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:37 pmInteresting, How did you know that? After I found out about "8th Man", I started recognizing U.S. cartoons that were converted Japanese Anime. They "have a look."
For instance, Gigantor is obvious anime. Though I found it to be exceptionally dumb.
I've also started enjoying the "real thing," which you can find on the web and TV (Sling has a whole bunch of them).
P.S. I also got into Anderson's Supermarionation, starting with Fireball XL-5 (pretty dumb in further review), and ending with the far superior Captain Scarlet and especially Thunderbirds.
From wiki: Team America: World Police, a 2004 film by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, is inspired by and uses the same style of puppetry as Thunderbirds. Stone and Parker, however, dubbed their version of the technique "Supercrappymation" since the strings controlling the puppets were intentionally left visible.

Never even thought about the Japanese angle. Makes sense- just look at their anime. Very similar.FSchmertz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:52 pmI was a big fan of that show, especially into Racer X, who was secretly his older brother.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:37 pmInteresting, How did you know that? My first exposure to anime was Voltron. Thoroughly enjoyed most of the Netflix revival though I thought they cheesed the ending pretty hard. For my cartoons now I lean a bit more towards the over the top violent type. Even back before anime, the more outrageous the violence the better. Wyle Coyote, non better at taking a hit.

Re: Hanna-Barbera cartoons are garbage
That is from the original manga マッハ ゴゴゴ "mahha go go go". It's a bit of a pun in Japanese. Mahha is as close as they can say German word Mach, and go go go is just general racecar lingo, *and* the name of the original character of Speed Racer, Mifune Go. And go also means five in Japanese, so why Speed has the numeral five on his car and an M on his helmet. Go-go-go is also how a 日本人 hears a car's tires sound on a racetrack.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:37 pmInteresting, How did you know that? Coyote always bought his latest high tech roadrunner killing devices from "ACME, Inc". It was never explained how he could afford it or how he paid for it. Hell of an open account. Now that I think about it- It explains the exact economic platform for all 20 Dems running in 2020.Blast wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 11:06 pm My first exposure to anime was Voltron.
