What's the Maximum Number of People that can live on Earth?

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.
It can get NSFW-ish here: you have been warned!

We, as in England? Or We, as in most of us here in North America? This is important...

derrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Still in Congress BTW. Care to guess his party affiliation?

LOL!! That's exactly what I was thinking when the question about the weight of humans came up!!

As for that African fellows party affiliation, I'm going to guess based on his colour, that he is a Democrat? But for the record I have seen countless Republicans say really stupid shit as well. So none of your political parties can do much bragging.

As for that African fellows party affiliation, I'm going to guess based on his colour, that he is a Democrat? Because isn't the Republican party a largely non-African party? But for the record I have seen countless Republicans say really stupid shit as well. So none of your political parties can do much bragging.

There are only three things that change the mass of the earth, about 50k tons of atmosphere is lost to space every year, about 40k of space dust falls in, and about 32 tons of rare earth minerals are transported to centauri alpha 3 by an alien mining operation in Kazakhstan. If another billion humans are made from the stuff already here there's zero change in mass.

I remember reading somewhere that if the state of Texas had the population density of NYC the entire population of Earth could fit in there.

This isn't strictly related, but may not be entirely worthy of its own thread-
I fell asleep with the oven on and overcooked a chicken by about 4 hours, it's all wizened and chewy, kinda chicken jerky. The layer of cheese and bacon is so crispy that it shatters and falls off. Anyhoo, it's fucking delicious. I've been happily chewing on it for a couple of hours now.

holy shit. i might have to do some math.

Edit: Fuck, you are right. Density of NYC is 26,403 ppl/ sq mile. Area of Texas 268,597 sq mile. So, at that density, you could fit 7.1 billion people into texas.

And because of this I just Googled that Canada, USA and China are pretty much the same size. For my entire life, I thought China was a massive country, and USA was average size. I guess it's been a while since I took 6th grade geography.

1. Russia 17,098,242 KM
2. Canada 9,984,670
3. United States 9,826,675
4. China 9,596,960
5. Brazil 8,514,877
6. Australia 7,741,220
7. India 3,287,263
8. Argentina 2,780,400
9. Kazakhstan 2,724,900
10. Algeria 2,381,741

Reading this, the only thing that will keep the U.S. population from shrinking and aging is immigration.

I'm thinking that Japan will have to adapt and unlearn apparent xenophobia by accepting "foreigners" into their country for survival's sake.

Going further, if you put the entire world's population into Texas, then each person would have 936 sq ft for their own. A spot about 30' x 30' for each person.

Now, go Google countries by populations vs their size. You expect huge countries like China and India (1 Billion +), USA and Brazil (something like 300 and 200 million+ each). Check out countries like Indonesia. The country occupies a huge area on the World map, but is actually composed of 10,000's of tropical volcanic islands where almost everybody lives near the coasts. I don't remember the exact figure but I believe their population is approaching 200 million.

Not that 7.1 billion would want to, of course
well, if i had to live on 900 square feet out around Van Horn (for example), i'm not sure i would want to either.

Places like that have a little over 2.000 people living in a County measured at almost 4,000 sq miles.
