You didn't answer my question. What was my plan that I "bailed" on?

Yesterday, he did the 100 meter breaking a national record that stood for 29 years.

Race at 30 seconds in.
Thanks. I heard he broke the record earlier wind aided. I thought the video was from yesterday. Much oblige on the correction.
The 100 yd dash one was that fastest ever high school time period, wind aided or not. Previous was 9.99, also wind aided.

Actually there is a back story I wish they would cover. They never do. This kid broke a national 29 year track and field record. We know when, now how about who and where. Pretty amazing seeing a T&F record last for almost 1/3 of a century. May be obscure to 99.8 % of the population, but there's some guy near 50 (if alive) that this was the highlight to his younger days. I think it would make a great story.

not to be racist or anything, but i think the bigger story is that the fastest kid is a white guy.

It will be interesting to see what he decides to do after HS. You would assume sports related (football, basketball, try out for the Summer Olympics), but they say academically, he's near the top of his class- may decide to do something totally different. And I really want to see his HS GF. Let's get her in the picture here so we can all relieve our HS years.

Henry Neal

That's a recent picture of the previous guy, best I can determine
Neal’s time of 10.15 seconds, clocked at the University Interscholastic League State Track and Field Championships in Austin, has stood as the National Federation of State High School Association’s national record since May 12, 1990, when Neal was a senior at Greenville High School.

P.S. I don't know who's picture that is in the article, but no, it wasn't another fast white dude who held the record. Here he is in 1990

P.P.S. That's the writer of the article apparently, Sports Editor David Claybourn

I'm glad he got that figured out. Because there was no way I was going to believe that the fastest guy in Greenville, TX was a white guy.

I don't know. Seems those old track stars can hit the buffet lines in record time.
