Complaints about service, etc.

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.
It can get NSFW-ish here: you have been warned!

When our dog was alive he'd have LOVED going to Home Depot. Didn't realize it was allowed to bring in your dog until after he'd died. Any manager that asks for paperwork on a service dog is basically asking to be fired in a PR move from the restaurant when people take it to Facebook. It would be an idiotic career move.

As long as the dog isn't threatening, shitting / pissing or barking, I have no problem with them in a restaurant or store. We have a few cat cafe's where they have multiple cats up for adoption roaming around a coffee shop. We also have specially licensed dog allowed restaurants.

Our state Health Department does not allow pets in food establishments, for sanitary reasons, I am confused as to why people think that is not the correct way to protect the health and welfare of customers when eating or buying food.

I get it, you love you dog, but I do not, and my wife is terrified of any dog larger than a few pounds. Consideration seems to be a lost art.

Off the top of my head I don't recall ever seeing a dog in a restaurant before.
But I know this, if I'm in a restaurant with a plate of food in front of me and some dog at a table beside me drops a shit or decides to shake it's fur and I end up with a plate of food covered in dog hair then there is going to be proper hell to pay! And that dog's owner sure as shit is going to be paying my bill!

Real service dogs are never a problem in a restaurant. It's only non-trained, so called therapy dogs, that cause a problem. A lot of neighborhood places around me are dog friendly. I don''t have a problem with that, but if I'm going someplace upscale, I expect adults, kids, and dogs to be behaved.

In an upscale restaurant I'd prefer no young kids. Dogs are ok though.

I do think therapy pet concept is abused. I don't think you should be able to bring your therapy chicken on a plane.

I guess I'll express my opinion, if I may. Expect major cynicism that you've come to expect. Any trained Service dogs for blind and other physically handicapped persons has been around for decades and is acceptable anywhere- work, food places, airline flights, supermarkets, etc. I have no problem staying at a motel that allows small dogs and cats- This last visit I made friends with the neighbors dog and even took it running around at the local park a couple of times. BUT- this whole "Support Animal" BS is a totally different story. I've done no research on it because I don't care, but I'm guessing it's origins are on the West/East coasts where social norms are a joke. I remember reading a few years ago where the first airline announced their "support animal" policy. I fell out of my chair laughing. Sure enough, "support" tarantulas, kangaroos, endless that it didn't take long to shut that shit down (Who didn't see that coming?). Badly, a couple a kids got mauled in check in lines to make this subject extremely not funny. So, bottom line. If you are so emotionally crippled you can't visit somewhere outside your home without an animal by your side, you probably need never leave home. And a final point, It's another "progressive" agenda (like gays, trans, whatever) where the other 96-98% of the entire population are expected to bend and accommodate this tiny percentage. Fuck that crap. Thanks for letting me have my say.

Parts are understandable, the annoyance with the proliferation of support critters is is shared when it is an animal that causes issues, the rest seems like it was tossed together like a drunken midnight snack.

I've seen too many damn people going straight from the shitter to the door and then out to the store's drink cooler. And I know they didn't wash their fucking hands! :screaming:

What's the paperwork consist of? It seems to me that a service dog is being provided for medical reasons, and medical reasons are HIPAA protected. Only someone with a legally entitled reason to ask for them should, like a police officer. A restaurant owner wouldn't be so entitled. Here in Florida, that's how it got decided a number of years back, after a lot of residents howled about the idea.

Nope. And I'll go a step further. Again, it's just an attitude from someone (me) that seems steeped in the past. It may piss people off, create outrage but it's push back to the pussification of US society that's been going on for 4 decades. It's a very minor point in the relentless "Progressive Agenda". It involve your pets. In my life, I've owned several dogs, cats, gerbils, whatever. I'm just dumbfounded at the attitude that these animals are "family". I get the relationship- you feed it, take care of it, it gives you pleasure. Dogs are really hard to ignore. But, I just don't get the outpouring of grief when a pet dies. Let me get this straight- you got a puppy when you were 18. Your life expectancy is another 60-70 years (dogs- maybe 10), so you know you are going to have multiple dogs/ cats in your lifetime. So, what's the point of getting so emotionally involved in one pet when you know the end game. I've never understood.
