Tell me the limits.
You can't start off wanting to limit the purchase of guns any more than it is right now.
How would they "start off" then?
by coming up with things that will work that don't involve limiting the purchase of guns
Its sort of like if I told you that you had to come up with a way to keep your yard from flooding without your solution being to stop it from raining.
Rain is a natural event. Weather is uncontrollable. Nice try.
And keeping guns out of the hands of criminals is also uncontrollable. By the very definition of the word criminal, they don't obey laws. Pass all the laws you want. It won't change a thing. You will only accomplish keeping certain guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens.
Please explain how it's worked in other countries across the world.

Perhaps the other countries actually treat mental illness instead of enabling it.

Your country had a ban on assault weapons from 1994 to 2004.
And guess what?... Your entire society didn't collapse. No one came to your door to take your guns. And the number of mass shootings went down, waaay down. Since the ban was removed the number of mass shootings has skyrocketed.
If you want proof that a ban on assault weapons would reduce the number of mass shootings... simply look 25 years back in your own country's history.

Think of it like this. During the Assault Rifle Ban, then number of assult rifles basically doubled in the US. When it was lifted what happened? Just look at the demand that ban had on the consumers? People went absolutely ape shit buying assault weapons after that ban.
So, during the ban the numbers continued to rise. And ending the ban created a mad rush to go buy one. Now you tell me what got us in the mess we are in now?

What other societal influences have occurred? Breakdown of families? Near constant state of fear to control the masses? Belittling of anyone who doesn't agree? Constant anger about what everyone else thinks when it doesn't fall in line with what is the current mindset? Desire to be famous for no other reason? The devaluation of life through social influence, music. Movies, pop culture, the rapid acceleration of the use of antidepressant medications and other mjnd altering drugs of all types, the proliferation of gang violence, a constant sense of impending doom, insulting and demeaning others?
There is much more going on here than a ban on an arbitrary group of guns with a scary name ending.

They ban books, but guns are less harmful.

Better off hitting them with a hardcover than throwing it. Hit them hard enough to cause a concussion and knock them down, follow up with a blow to the face and smashing the nose, then while they lay there dazed bring the edge down repeatedly on their throat smashing the windpipe.

I sorta feel like that was a murder confession. He never did say how his last girlfriend went

She started hinting at wanting to get married. I told her right when we started dating that wasn't going to happen.

... so that's when you bludgeoned her with a hardcover in the library!
