Ancient humans would kill a wild animal, tear it apart and devour it raw.. that is until they discovered fire and the subsequent amusement with cooked food.
Your cheddars hamburger was raised in some filthy stinking conditions before it was slaughtered, mixed with the meat of a hundred other cows, trucked across the country and then slapped on a grill by some guy who couldn't give two shits what sanitary means. That cow was likely fed some nasty shit and injected with who knows what to keep disease at bay and increase its size.
So yeah that's basically exactly like cavemen hunting a woolly mammoth. I'm not one for jumping on the pile but you gotta give this one up dude. Just sayin

No, I blamed all of you for tarding up every single thread. If he says something stupid about the topic, by all means rip him apart. Other times he says something harmless and its like theres nothing better to do but pile on. I'm not denying hes a complete asshat. We dont need 5 pages of reminders in every post though, was my point.

"The USDA said its Food Safety and Inspection Service found that cooking pork to a temperature of 145 degrees and letting it rest for three minutes is just as safe as cooking it to a higher temperature. The change means that a cut of pork may still look pink when it reaches 145 degrees and that, says the USDA, is OK."

years and years ago i had to visit a sewer treatment plant. They were wanting to do some infrastructure improvements on the site and wanted me to give some opinions. Anyway, i met a guy who drove me around to sort of explain the ideas they had. In the process, he was explaining how the whole site worked. At one point we are parked looking at a huge tail dump truck, this is one of those monster trucks that they use in strip mines with 10 foot diameter tires. Anyway, this truck is parked under a large silo hopper thing and there's two guys in the cab. They have the windows down with their arms out like they are parked at a Sonic waiting on a foot long chili dog with cheese tots. Behind them, human waste is pouring into the back of their truck and splattering everywhere. its like watching a million pound cow with no tail after an all you can eat chili buffet.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 11:34 pm

So, the shit splatter is going everywhere, these guys are unaffected as they wait for a green light so they can pull forward and go dump this load of feces. I asked the guy, "why don't those guys at least have their windows up". He looks at me very seriously and says, "that's one of the perks of working here, our immune systems get so strong that we never get sick". I sort of felt like i was part of the beginning of a bad horror movie.

Personally, I've noticed something similar since moving out to the country. I've always been a healthy guy who might get a cold once or twice a year but rarely visit the doc. Since switching from city to spring water however my immune system seems to be a lot stronger. I recently had my water tested and as expected it tested positive for coliform bacteria which is basically everywhere. On every surface in your house, doorknobs etc but not allowed in city water. Anyway I think 99% of springs test positive for coliform due to the construction which makes sealing them fundamentally impossible. The testing was performed by Penn States "Agricultural Analytical Services Lab" and the guy I spoke with said that he'd be shocked if it didn't test positive. He went on to say that folks who drink spring water develop immunities which have benefits beyond simply not getting sick from drinking unfiltered tap water. As for me, I haven't gotten so much as a cold in 2 years and that's a first in my 36 year lifespan. Spring water also contains vitamins and minerals which are filtered out of city water though some reintroduce those minerals synthetically.

it's possible but i kinda of doubt it.. I go to the local university's gym 5 days a week in town and gym's aren't exactly well-known for being sanitary.. It's crawling with college aged kids who don't seem to give a shit about wiping down equipment or washing their hands. When I see people touching their faces in there or putting their fingers in their mouths I feel somewhat sick but hey maybe staph infections are cool these days.PimpDaddy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:57 pmMAybe you get sick less, because they are less germs out there, compared to the city?JackRabbit_Slim wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:54 pmI've heard plumbers echo a similar sentiment.Flumper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:41 pmyears and years ago i had to visit a sewer treatment plant. Fine by me for the blind, warning about an upcoming seizure, stuff like that. And the animal must be trained and have a 'service' permit.hawkfan8812 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 5:13 pm What are your opinions about people bringing their "service" dogs into restaurants and grocery stores?
When I see someone randomly claim they are needed for anxiety? Nagger, please. Stay at home if you can't handle a trip to Walmart without your Service rabbit.

Entities cannot require anything of people with service animals that they do not require of individuals in general, with or without pets."
Bummer, I just found this. I am sure there are legal issues, but going forward, make the dog wear a tag or lanyard. Encrypt it if you are afraid Muffy's identify is going to get stolen, but I see waaaaaay more people that probably don't need a service animal than do.
My wife is highly allergic to cat/dog dander. I don't understand way you can bring a dog on an airplane without any problems or warning the other passengers, but I can't bring a brownie that was made in a factory that may or may not have had peanuts present.

Our state now requires the owner of the service dog carry the proper paperwork and provide it when asked.
