iPhone

Since Fouts mentioned it, anyone getting this new phone? Wife wants one because her S8 camera takes crappy pics (or she could clean the fucking lens, LOL). Doesn't seem to be much of an improvement over the previous version.

How much phone power do you need to text stupid friends, take an occasional pic and use Facebook for hours a day? Apparently $700 worth, according to her.

And another phone question, I asked WooHoo in the past. I have a landline at work. How can I forward my land line # to my cell phone permanently so I can eventually kill my land line? I can't lose my work number, so I kept the land line and the monthly expense.
Something about a burner phone? Anyone know?

Your landline goes to voice mail if you don't answer.? I have ATT voice mail that can forward to any other phone number. You need a machine or a service that can 'forward' is my guess.
I get an Iphone from work but have an android as my personal phone. I don't see what the $800 Iphone does any better than my $150 Android that's 4 years old. Iphone camera alittle better but not >$500 better.

If you own the landline, you could just port the number to a cell. Alternatively, you could go with a VoIP device, and forward from there. Less cost than a landline, but may not be as much as a second cellphone.

Yes, if I don't answer, the land line VM service kicks in, or I can forward it. But I have to pay for that service. I'd like to keep the number and avoid a monthly fee for it. If I remember, there was a way to do it.

And I agree, Android tech has been ahead of Apple pretty much every step along the way. iPhones are superior at marketing :D
Heck, my S6 from 2015 has a 16mp camera. The new iPhone is 12mp. I know there is more to it than that, but for my wife to complain about her newer than my phone/camera is a crutch. But a new iPhone is shinier, so there's that.

If you buy a new phone because there's something wrong with your current phone, that's fine. If you're buying a new phone just because it's new, and you need to have the newest one, you're a fucking retard. The reality is, very few people need a fucking computer in their pockets. Cell phone providers have convinced everyone that they do, so that the companies can rake in huge profits. I have a iphone 6s that was given to me by my step dad. It still works great, and takes good pictures. No data package, because I can wait til I get home to go on the computer. If I really needed to go online, I can fine wifi somewhere.

Traditionally, I take the handmedowns from my wife and kids. I'm using an iPhone 5. Seems to work.

It sounds like you have to make the decision to do away with your landline, it's not "eventually."

Don't use your home button too much. Mine is D E A D dead. I have a virtual one now and it's a pain in the ass. The thumbprint thing stopped working, too.
