Sometimes, I just want to get off this fucking planet.

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.
It can get NSFW-ish here: you have been warned!

I just heard that there are Facebook groups called "Flat Earth Vegans" and "Flat Earth Anti-Vaxx Vegans".

I'm not going to go over there to see if it's true. Because I just KNOW that it's going to be true.

God help us.

So you believe people when they say they believe in a flat earth? Great.

My years behind the bar have taught me, if someone is indicating to you that they are an idiot, it is best to believe it so until proved otherwise.

Every single fucking day I want off this planet.. which brings me to an interesting hypothetical question..

Let's say Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or Smurf called you up and said they discovered an earthlike planet within reach. Basically indistinguishable from our own.. Covered in vegetation, wildlife etc etc BUT no humans. They are giving people the chance to go start a new civilization but you can't take shit.. there won't be electricity or an infrastructure. Think of it as you'll be a pioneer. You might not survive but there will be so much space and readily available resources that the small group of people will either be able to band together or simply wander off and likely never see another human again. You can take some basic tools and perhaps a few weapons. No firearms. Oh, and you're never coming back.

So... do you say fuck it and go? Or be a pussy and stay here waiting for the big one to come or WW3?

As for me, I wouldn't even hesitate.. I've already seen enough of this planet and our species.. my only regret would be the fear that if successful at survival we'd likely ruin this other planet once given sufficient time. But I'd be long dead so not my problem.

Who's coming?

I like to think I watched enough Survivor type shows on TV, but I doubt it. I'd probably die in a week of an infected sliver from a pine needle.

I guess I'll stay here. I have lots of cool shit and a hot wife.

Sometimes people wear me down a bit, but usually not too much. I find cutting back on all types of media is good for my soul at times. 98% of media is rediculous B.S. Read a good book, and spend some time around people you respect and admire, and you will likely feel better about this planet. If you don't know anyone who you respect and admire then you either aren't trying hard enough, or have problems.

Life here on earth is pretty easy, and usually enjoyable. I think I'll sitck around.

Facebook doesn't make people idiots, but it does reveal the fucking idiots. That's why Facebook is a good thing. The willfully ignorant, and the just plain stupid expose themselves. It makes me realise just how many fucking simpletons are walking around somehow functioning in society. It's mind boggling.

As the song says: accentuate the positive / eliminate the negative
Negative / psychotic people and the baggage they bring with them will bring anyone down. Being happy or miserable is a choice for most people.

Yeah, this seems pretty self evident. OP's mentioning of Facebook should show that when you immerse yourself in all the social media, it's not healthy or happy. It's why I avoid 98% of it. I've always assumed something like 40% of social media leaves you informed and happy. Everything after that is rapid downhill on both. Edit/ more like 20%
