Alright, I’ll have to look at the settings when I can get onto a non-work related workstation. Everyone should be able to create a poll, surprised nobody’s bitched about it before now.

Most of us don't see the need to create a poll about someone being an ass in some sort of endless feud! ;)

All active users can now created posts with polls in them for the General, Sports, and Pol/SFW forums.

The permission is not a by-user setting, but a by-forum setting for all the users who can access that forum. Kind of weird, but I'm sure there's a reason for it.
