Not if it's all fragmented or smooshed, no. Is that really something you can't grasp? This is why the comparison bullet is fired from the same gun into a tank of water, rather than digging up what's left of ol' Charlie and firing the comparison one through his spine. you want a whole undamaged bullet or at least a significant part of it for this type of analysis. Whatever they are working with will clearly be disclosable in trial so not much point lying about it is there?
