Using 4 or 5 words back to back works good. Then with that passphrase add upper and lowercase letters plus a symbol and a number or 2. Normally puts it around 26 characters. That will put it in the billion-year range for sure. That's if they let use that many. Most don't. Passphrases alone for me are easier to remember.

I have a go-to password that is numbers, upper and lower case letters, and symbols that's 23 characters long.
If someone hacks it, I'll pat them on the back and buy them a steak and a beer!

that password service i use would flag you if you have two accounts with the same password. but, i would think one that complicated would be okay. i think they flag it because if a hacker stumbled on the password by way of a leak or a data breach, they would try it on every account you have.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 8:10 pmI have a go-to password that is numbers, upper and lower case letters, and symbols that's 23 characters long.

What happens if your password service goes down? Do you have all of them written down?Animal wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 8:12 pmthat password service i use would flag you if you have two accounts with the same password. but, i would think one that complicated would be okay. i think they flag it because if a hacker stumbled on the password by way of a leak or a data breach, they would try it on every account you have.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 8:10 pmI have a go-to password that is numbers, upper and lower case letters, and symbols that's 23 characters long.
