fortunately Cassandros supplied us with the science that proves that social distancing isn't effective out in the wind if you are downwind of someone that is sneezing. make a note of that.

You seem to be willfully 'forgetting' the last few years...Animal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 1:41 pmi know how important it is to you to dispute every single thing Fauci ever said, but that report doesn't dispute the effectiveness of maintaining 6 feet. How many times were people social distancing in the wind? My god. This was for standing in line at Home Depot or Piggly Wiggly, where the wind is typically not that much.Cassandros wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 2:51 amSo... you believe "6' social distancing" actually works and is a valid mitigation technique, still, after ~4 years?
(Hate to tell you, but actual science confirms it's not.)
and it takes no more science than common sense to know that when you have a disease that is passed on from one person to another, then keeping those people from coming in direct contact is smart. Which is probably where it went over your head.
But, to answer your question, when it was social distancing season it was --> All the time.
And let's not be too daft, its not just a slight breeze that can make airborne viruses move more than six feet, AC's and heaters do the same thing indoors. Equally true when the automatic doors open at Home Depot and Piggly Wiggly, when you are waiting in line. But, you know... common sense and all... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know you drank a LOT of covid kool-aid, but my friend, allowing the lie (read:any aspect of the official narrative) to persist does nothing positive for you or society. But, the folks at pfizer appreciate it and look forward to you getting your next booster soon.

by gosh, you are right. instead of making a simple, sweeping, nationwide policy of "stay at least 6 feet apart" they should have had a bunch of footnotes for:
1. Except in a windy conditions. If wind is 0-10 mph then 6.5 feet should be used. If wind is 10 to 20 mph please use 8.7 feet. etc...
2. Or if you are in a building and there is some type of rotating air circulating machine aimed in your direction. Then increase distance to 8 feet. Unless that air is circulating more than 12 mph, then increase.....
3. Or if.....
I can't believe that 4 years later people are still desperate to prove they were right all along about something that literally no one gives a fuck about.

There was NO science to support this decree (or any covid mandate, really, but I digress...).
The correct move was --> Not creating a fucking National policy based on 'magic'.

actually, i'm smart enough to not be offended by a common sense based rule to keep your distance during a pandemic that is spread by people to people. Its hard for me to understand anyone that can't grasp that. And its hilarous when a person tries to turn that advice into some huge life changing event imposed on humanity. It's kind of amazing you still can't grasp this, its really basic shit.

BREAKING NEWS. The Nazi control on humanity continues. I heard on the news this morning that because of the snow and icey roads, they are recommending that drivers keep at least twice the normal distance between cars. WHAT???!?!?!?! My liburty!!! I am a free citizen in a free country. They can't make me do that!!!!1 Is Fauci behind this nazi stuff? What do we do about this, Karen!?!?! Call a senator! There is no science to back this up. Show me the science. If you can't I will find some science that proves it doesn't work in certain circumstances. What if the road is downhill with the wind behind you? What if the road is treated? What if the road is gravel? My god, what if all of these things?@!?!?!?! You can't make me drive like that.

It's both sad and amusing when people can't understand the difference between a recommendation and a mandate.
Imagine being arrested because you didn't leave enough space between you and the car in front of you.

driving too close to another car is a crime in Texas and you can be given a ticket or arrested for it. So, because the weather is cold with the chance of ice, the government should mandate twice the length between vehicles for all 50 states and arrest anyone who dares get 1' too close?
Get bent, your analogy holds no water and your logic is severely lacking.

you just said to "imagine being arrested because you didn't leave enough space...." You CAN Be fucking arrested for that. You can be arrested even without a snow storm. You could be arrested for it on a bright sunny day. Why aren't you angry about that? Why aren't you on some rant to change the driving laws because tailgating is some infringement on your basic human rights?Cassandros wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 3:36 pm/facepalmAnimal wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 3:10 pmdriving too close to another car is a crime in Texas and you can be given a ticket or arrested for it. In ONE state there is a law that allows that. And you will only ever be arrested for driving too close if you are also 1) exceedingly reckless, 2) taking part in street racing, or 3) manage to piss off the officer who pulled you over and he adds charges. Otherwise its a fucking class C misdemeanor and you will NOT go to jail.Animal wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 3:41 pmyou just said to "imagine being arrested because you didn't leave enough space...." That is not the same as 'pulled out my ass' mandate.
You're grasping at straws comparing apples to hubcaps, and looking like a fool in the process.

trust me, the government would have absolutely no more reason to jail someone for violating social distancing laws than they would to jail that same person for tailgating laws. So what's the difference, you ask? The difference is that most people understand the need for tailgating laws and they don't turn it into some kind of stupid mission. while there are plenty of Karen's that had to make a point over social distancing laws so they ended up arrested. because they are stupid. like you.Cassandros wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 1:11 amNot that big of a surprise...Animal wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 5:20 pmthis will come as a surprise. And on the 6' rule specifically,
That said, Social distancing is a broad term and on the 6' part of the rules specifically, I will concede -- Most people who got arrested for that violation most likely became belligerent and police were happy to oblige; though it has to be noted that the interaction would never have happened if the social distancing rules did not exist.
Also, some cops do get drunk with power, like in the above link. Which reminds us:
At the end of the day it doesn't change the fact that any rule that has zero data or scientific studies to back it should NOT be implemented against the public. They should have simply said it was a recommendation and not part of a rule set."She's learned that our constitutional rights are something worth standing up for," Mooney said. "She got to witness a violation of civil rights. She got to witness an unlawful order by the police."
