Let's talk Old school vs New school service outages

You know, where some service to your abode is disrupted for days due to some reason- accidents, technical problems, weather, whatever. Least to worst. Old school/ probably cable-satellite is the least- easily able the get through that. Next I consider a tie between gas/ water. Depends on where you live and how much you depend on it. Without gas, you can always warm up the water and take a sponge bath. I went 5 days without water a few years ago (busted toilet pipe) and paid my neighbor to run a very long hose from his house. It was July, so took cool baths, heated water to wash dishes, etc. The Granddaddy of course is loss of electricity. New school/ same exact order except insert loss of WiFi/ Internet service somewhere in that list. Saturday morning, had a massive T-storm roar through with quarter size hail. Knocked my internet out for 3 days. No fun. If I had to play one more solitaire game on my computer, I was going to tear my hair out. Discuss.

if i had a ranch, that was pretty remote with service loss not unusual, i would list water at the top of the list. you can get by without light or heat. candles and bbq pits can do pretty much whatever is necessary. there is no internet out there, which i consider a plus, so the loss of that wouldn't bother me at all. satellite tv loss wouldn't be a problem either. there is no gas, so no problem there. So, water first, then electric power, then nothing else matters.

Agree, just depends on what you depend on. No doubt, electricity tops the list for the vast majority of the population- hell it towers over everything else.

I guess you'll need to inform me/ us what apocalypse you see coming. I'm old school- apocalypse back then was the extermination of almost all life on Earth due to full Nuclear attacks with 10,000's weapons. Can I guess, your apocalypse involves "feelings" somehow?
