Since the last one died in the transition. Watched it years ago on DVD, just rewatched "The Pacific" on Amazon. Powerful.

Holy crap. Looking at the IMDB page on "The Pacific". The actor who played "Sledge" in the series was little boy Tim in Jurassic Park I and II.

Just a reminder from my old thread on dead UJR. I would suggest a look see of "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" on Netflix. Wacky/ Brilliance from the Cohen brothers.

So, you were able to finally see it, avoiding the Canadian Netflix? Awesome.

Nah. I said on the old UJR, it's not groundbreaking or anything. I just thought it was very well done. Considering they were exploring a 6 part streaming project unlike the Movies in the theaters projects they have always done.

It wasn't meant to be groundbreaking. It's all about the story. The interaction. And the depth.
The final segment in the stagecoach was brilliant.

I agree. I thought all 6 episodes were great in their own way. Also loved having 6 separate story lines as opposed to one movie story. Had to be a new style for them.

Cohen Bros keeping with the streaming trend and do a couple of similar (stories from books) about spy or 50's LA Detective Genres (LA Confidential). Awesome.

Pretty surprising from this week's Oscar nominations. Golden Globe's have nominated streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, etc) for awards for a few years. Oscar's (That I haven't watched for a decade) have always been theater oriented (Movie must be released in so many theaters before the end of the year to me nominated, etc.) 2 Netflix series got major nominees. Even "Buster Scruggs" was nominated in the "Costume" category. Interesting change after 90 plus years.

I'm thinking about dropping Prime (I really hate to for the free shipping) but their video selection is lacking. Any comparison from you folks who have had both? I know NF rocks on the in house series/movies.
